Children’s Ministry

I grew up in North Gower as a part of a family of 5. My family attended church but did not live out an active life of faith at home. I accepted what Christ had done for me when I was 8, but it was not until a close friend died when I was 17 that the full reality of what Christ offered through his death began to make sense. In 2003 I felt God’s call to children’s ministry after spending a summer working as a counsellor at Circle Square Ranch. In 2004 I began classes at Bethany Bible College as a means to pursue this calling. I graduated in 2009 and from there had the opportunity to work as a Children’s Pastor in Fredericton, NB. In 2011 my husband Matthew and our son Simon returned to Ottawa to join in on what God is doing at Sunnyside.

I love kids! I love working with kids, I love hanging out and playing games with them, and I love the chance to see the world through their eyes (I also don’t mind their parents!). I believe that children are amazing vessels of grace. They have incredible capacities to love, serve, worship, and pray. As the Children’s Pastor I want to partner with you (parents, grandparents, and guardians) as you seek to raise your children into fully committed relationships with Jesus and teach them how to live out a life of vibrant faith.

I am so thankful for God’s guidance and grace in my life and I am anticipating what He has in store.
