I was born and raised in Newfoundland, and grew up in the Pentecostal tradition. At age eleven, I decided to follow Christ while at a youth camp. In 1982, I moved to Ottawa with my parents. I started attending Sunnyside in the fall of 1990 while dating my wife, Joy, during our student days at Carleton University. I’ve been here ever since. We now have three lovely children, Megan, Jacob, and Caleb.

In my early teens I felt God calling me to ministry but not necessarily to the pastorate. I always felt I would work with young people. And as life went on God continually opened doors for me to be involved in youth ministry, especially here at Sunnyside. I worked with the teens for five years and then moved into leading worship in a church filled with students, young adults, and young families. It has been wonderful to see how God has ministered to people over the years as we have endeavored to worship Him in Spirit and truth.

God continues to teach me more and more of His grace and love. There are times when you think you can comprehend the greatness of God’s love, yet in the end you can never quite grasp how great it truly is!
