Gina Byun

Where does she come from?

She comes from Napanee Ontario; where her Mother and Father raised her and her younger brother. She also has two little sisters who were adopted when she was out of high school. She attended NDSS Christian club, Drama club, and participated as an active member and leader of various other clubs as a teen, but most of her spare time was invested in being a part of and helping out with youth group at her church.

What is her faith story?

She grew up going to the Roblin Wesleyan Church and made a commitment to follow Christ at age 8 when she was starting to think about her individuality from her family. She made a personal decision to follow Christ. She recommitted her life to God and to serving in ministry when she was about 15 years old. It was around that point that Gina began to have a passion for serving in the church and exploring her gifts and desires for ministry.

What kind of education and experience does she have?

She attended Bethany Bible College from September 2005- December 2010. During that time her motivation to serve God grew and she was presented with many options to explore as to what she should focus her life and ministry towards. She did her internship at Sunnyside Wesleyan Church and felt a great connection to the church and community. Her internship consisted of running a summer Sunday School for children, organizing a young adults ministry, and helping with other various ministries in the church and district.

Why should I go to or send my child to youth group?

Gina has a solid yet growing relationship with God and is passionate about seeing teens grow in their relationship with Him. She leads relevant Bible studies, and encourages the teens as individuals to use their own gifts and talents for God in the church and in their communities. If you go to, or allow your teen to attend youth group, Gina will make sure they receive as much mentoring, encouragement and discipleship as is possible.
